Gwendolyn Babbitt grew up in a small town in Central Oregon with 2 sisters, where horseback riding, rounding up her dad’s Hereford cattle in the Steens Mountains & riding motorcycles on dirt roads with her cousins helped shape the art she paints & designs today – a deep & abiding lifelong love for family, farm animals, ranches, nature, home & garden. She is also a bit obsessed with vintage décor, creating designs using her large archive of antique paper ephemera.
Completely re-decorating and arranging her bedroom every 2 weeks as a child was an early indication of Gwen’s passion for home décor, and her art has been licensed by a variety of companies, & products including CR Gibson, Hallmark, Robert Kaufman, Fine Gardening Magazine, Sunset books, Legacy Publishing Group & Mohawk Rugs among others - for everything from fabric to cutting boards!
Be it a bird, bee, botanical, beast or barnyard, Gwen responds with brush & paint to the breathtaking loveliness of this world & hopes her work reflects even just a bit of Creation’s wonder.
